Gastric problem
« on: October 31, 2015, 10:19:10 pm »
my gastric problem has been bothering me since my teenage years.. seeing doc also doesn't help. i have friends with gastric problem too and we all just try to prevent it by making sure we eat something at regular intervals. but sometimes it's really tough when i'm too engrossed in work..

is prevention the only way out?

I can totally understand. I've also had a long standing gastric issue since childhood as well. And I second the Manuka Honey stance too! Can try to get it cheap at Robinsons Sale (especially on the last day), where you can even make friends with the sales lady and get a really good deal. That's how I normally stock up 8)

I think getting yourself checked with an nutritionist for gluten allergy causes is another way too.

But if its due to gluten issues, its gonna be quite a painful maintenance in terms of both $ and tastebuds

Manuka honey control and prevent gastric problem right? Cannot cure right?

I've checked with western doc and TCM doc, both tells me cannot not cure. Can only maintain and prevent, provided I'm obedient and disciplined with my diet.

My mum cook some kumpong herbs for me every time my gastric hurts in the past. Not sure of the name of this kumpong herbs... but can be used to cook veg soup.

The other method I tried before i to take Vit A and Zinc. Read before that these combi of supplement could re-build the gastric wall though it has not been thoroughly medically proven. I think these supplements help.

Not everyday. Only on some days though. Like chicken chop, fast food etc.. Food like KFC are close to irresistible :P

Hey dear, I suffered from gastric from my late teens to early 20s.

After I went overseas for further studies (early 20s), my gastric problem stopped. This is because I had an increase of appetite and I ate a lot due to the cold weather.

From then on, my appetite has always been good and I never had any gastric problems.

Are you eating enough?
