Eat more often to lose weight!

Yes the title describes it!

Eating more often doesn't necessarily mean an increase in food quantity. Split the meals (total calories intake) to smaller portions throughout the day and reduce the total intake to be less than the calories your body burns daily to sustain day to day activities.

Why? Cos if you eat lesser meals, your body may risk slipping into starvation mode as it detects the lack of food so it will store fats instead of burning more of them to last through the starving period. That's why usually people finds it tougher and tougher to lose weight by eating lesser meals as they age cos their body is constantly in starvation mode.

Any other alternatives to natural healthy weight loss? Let's discuss!

I suggest making small changes to your diet. One small change at a time and not many changes at one go. That way, you will adhere to the new diet more readily.
Diet change should be a long term thing and not a short term thing.

I suggest low Glycemic Index (GI) food.

Just like what a diabetic person should consume.

A high GI food e.g. white rice, after digestion by the body, will cause a surge in the blood sugar level aka a burst of energy. However, if the energy is not used up quickly, the leftover sugars will store as fats in your body.

A low GI food will release sugar at a slow constant rate and hence, there will be lesser leftover sugars to be stored as fats.

Low GI Foods (55 or less)
100% stone-ground whole wheat or pumpernickel bread

Most fruits, non-starchy vegetables and carrots

Medium GI (56-69)
Whole wheat, rye and pita bread

Brown, wild or basmati rice, couscous

High GI (70 or more)
White bread or bagel
Corn flakes, puffed rice, bran flakes, instant oatmeal
Shortgrain white rice, rice pasta, macaroni and cheese from mix
Russet potato, pumpkin
Pretzels, rice cakes, popcorn, saltine crackers
melons and pineapple

Hmm the thing is food court rarely sells low GI foods?  :-\ places like Kopitiam, Food Place, Food Republic. I did a brief scan and found at least 70% of them sell mid to high GI foods.

Any recommendation for day to day food court / hawker low GI meals?

Some veges rice (cai fan) sells brown rice, maybe can opt for that? And choose all those veges and steamed fish and not deep fried stuff. And of course, no gravy on the rice!

I try to do intermittent fasting on weekdays .. Hmm so far no much results lei

ermm.. i eat cai fan, but never order rice at all... only fish, meat or veg... but cai fan uncle always nags at me, must eat some rice.. i told him i dun like rice at all...

dieting only will not help to less weight.  exercise and diet need to work together. Diet too much might end up destroying ur health as your body is not taking in the required nutrient.

I don't eat rice liao. Just eating chicken, egg, vegetables and fruits. Sometimes I cheat abit to reward myself for sticking to the diet with an otah  :P

juice very fattening lei.. coz alot of natural sugar in it.. normally i will drink plain water or green tea... i don't drink carbonated drinks at all.
so far the dishes i choose will not be salty though..

then again is not that i really like to eat cai fan.. because my company canteen only got cai fan  :'(

intetmittent is quite a big thing and is long term lifestyle change..  Only can eat for 8 hours and fast 16 hours a day. Most people only eat two meals on this and can lose quite a bit due to reduction in calories
