5 reasons why you might want to skip Malaysia entirely…
« on: July 29, 2017, 02:21:32 pm »
Malaysia boleh? It’s tak boleh in my books! Don’t bother visiting this Southeast Asian ‘gem’ – you might want to reconsider those travel plans to Malaysia entirely after hearing what I have to say about the horrors of this popular holiday destination.

1. Malaysia gives me a headache cause it has so many things going on. What a mess!

If there’s a thing as too much excitement, Malaysia is the definition of it. It makes my long weekend stressful, thinking about what to do – like, should I shop till I drop, be a party animal, feast like a queen, show off my #beachvacay or what? God knows how many brain cells I have to kill just to make a decision! Why can’t Malaysian cities decide on one theme instead of being so ridiculously filled with everything, from cosmopolitan KL, to arty-farty Penang and clear beach Langkawi?

What’s worst is the ridiculously low exchange rate of 1:3. It’s making me fill my luggage with unnecessary purchases and souvenirs! Spare some thoughts for our wallets and people with trouble making decisions please!

2. Don’t even start on the culture/history in Malaysia

From Malay, Chinese, Indian, Peranakan cultures, there’s a rojak of culture which is so confusing. Look at the temples, the mosques and Hindu temple – so many places to take OOTDs at! Do you know how much effort it takes to edit all these photos I need to take at all these places? Don’t say I never share, these are a short list of my top insta-worthy spots.

Kota Kinabalu City Mosque — A magical floating mosque as magical as me.
Batu Caves, Kuala Lumpur — A hidden Hindu temple that’s dark and mysterious, like my soul.
Kek Lok Si Temple, Penang — One of Malaysia’s largest and most exotic Buddhist temple, to really amp up my exoticism.
