http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/hit-and-run-by-taxi-lands-boy-in-hospital-cabby-later-says-he-didnt-stop-because-his-passenger-was

"It was a broad daylight at about 11.50am. My brother-in-law who is only 11 years old was crossing the road without any pedestrian crossing, at Teck Whye Lane near CCK Polyclinic.

"My mother-in-law and sister-in-law were waiting for cab at the opposite road where the incident took place.

"That's when my mother-in-law heard a big loud bang and to her horror, she saw her own son hit and flung 3 metres away by a taxi."

According to her, after realising that his mother and sister had hailed a cab, he crossed the road to meet them.

Benitha added:

"He tried to cross the road by checking if there were any oncoming vehicles, noticing there weren't any cars, he crossed and then the taxi came in a fast Speed and hit him.

So was the road clear?  Is this a "ghost" taxi that appeared out of nowhere?  :o
