Which breastpump to buy?
« on: August 14, 2016, 12:25:02 pm »
I'm considering between spectra from korea and medela from US! Spectra is definitely lots cheaper than medela but medela is famous for its breastpump.. Any recommendations?

Hi! I've used both brands before and I highly recommend spectra. Not only is spectra cheaper, it's also quieter and more portable than Medela models.

Go for Spectra 9+. It's a super powerful little double pump which you can tote around easily. It's rechargeable too! S1 is also good, but it is bulkier and more suitable for use at home.

Hope this helps! 😊

Thanks! Would you know about the difference between spectra 9+ and m1? I'm thinking of getting spectra s1 because i read that it's good for more pumps per day but it's not so portable since its 1kg

Spectra 9+ is a double pump, but M1 is actually made to be a single pump and an adapter (plugged in to the suction outlet) is used to convert it into a double. It actually gets weaker after a few weeks of using so I won't recommend it.

Although S1 is heavy, it is rechargeable hence very ideal for office/home use too! Unless you need to travel about with a breastpump in your bag, I will suggest the S1.

Just thinking what to do after maternity leave ends and have to go back to work and to pump in office? Unless must buy 2? Like a s1 and a 9+? Hmm.. But very costly..

After pumping for 1 week, i must say I highly recommend the real bubee pump over the spectra s9 pump. The real bubee actually managed to pump out 80ml from one breast when the spectra s9 only managed to pump out 30ml from the same breast! I'm impressed by real bubee's effectiveness, considering that it's less than $20. I can buy 6 of it with the price of the spectra s9!
