Waterproof Makeup
« on: October 15, 2015, 12:40:26 pm »
Hi everyone!

I'm a guy but pls don't bash me.

I was wondering what are some good make ups (basic stuff, foundation, eyeliner, bronzer) that is waterproof. Would simple ones from watsons suffice?

I'm a newbie stage performer and I'm considering this as an investment each time I have a performance.

If you have any tips that will help with expressions on stage feel free to share too!

warning: v long post lolol.
can go sephora take a look also. honestly the pricing is not that far from like watsons. nyx and catrice are two cheaper brands that work.

eyes: use gel liner or liquid liner. maybelline's gel liner, k-palette one day tattoo liner etc. i use the liquid liner from stila- intact through tears and rain man. gel liner can be used for smudgier or more natural look tho

foundation: revlon colorstay is supposedly v good. don't forget to set with powder otherwise it might melt.

eyebrows: i use powder but maybe you can try brow pencils from korean shops like the face shop. it's like 5 bucks for one pencil i think. even if you have thick brows, this helps to neaten them up.

bronzer: i really like the matte bronzer from nyx. don't go for shiny one unless you want effect from stage light haha.

one thing that i find really helps is eye primer. the one from urban decay is really amazing, stays with me from 8am to 12am. i got no brows, so i use the primer over my brows, put on some powder and insta-brows for the whoooole day. same goes for my eyeshadow.

if you wanna go *super* waterproof can look at the aqua range from make up for ever at sephora. supposedly v v v waterproof. but this brand is really quite ex.

expressions on stage... well if you're talking about makeup, you have to emphasise everything. it will look weird closeup, but once you're on stage then ppl will be able to see yr features more clearly.

I second the tatoo eyeliner for being waterproof!

MAC also has quite good pencil eyeliner if you don't like gel or liquid. They can be hard for beginners. Need a lot of practice!
