With the biggest prize pool in history outside of Blizzcon, Alibaba is making its mark on the eSports scene. Alibaba(Alipay) is sponsoring the tournament with 6 figures prize pool, across 4 games - Dota 2, Starcraft, Hearthstone and CS:GO.

As of now, I will tell my kids to go study and get a job.

However, the esports scene is exploding, the growth has been exponential the last few years. If the infrastructure in Singapore supports esports players, we might be able to see a generation of esports players.

Also, although we are a small island but we do have talents! Case in point will be iceiceice from Team Faceless. He probably earned over a million bucks in tournament monies and salaries. He went to China for a few years before coming back to Singapore this year. He is currently renting a landed property in the east (5k a month) for his team to play.
