My food journey from hawker in Singapore to anything everything out there...

Tanjong Rhu Wanton Mee at Jalan Batu Hawker Centre
Add : Jalan Batu Hawker Centre #01-35

Supposed to go for Kim Kee, but unfortunately, it is closed. In order to satisfy the craving for wanton mee, I ordered a bowl of Wanton Kway Teow in Black sauce.

Ordered the smallest portion (S$3.50). Quite generous in the serving of vegetables and charsiew. There is 1 fried wanton and 2 wanton in the soup. Soup is tasty, with the taste of the dried flat fish. However, the charsiew is disappointing and not to my liking.

Overall : 3/5

Blk 16 Bedok South Hawker Centre

Had a very full dinner the other day. Supposedly to go for gathering of another forum, but due to hawker closed for washing, I went to have dinner at another hawker.

Japanese House

Ordered the Oyako Don (S$4+)

Slightly salty towards the end. Not bad for hawker centre, in fact, it tasted better than some of those Japanese food stalls from food court.

My Taste : 3/5

Hock Seng Choon Fish Ball Noodle

Fish Ball Soup - S$3.00
(6 fish balls and 2 fish dumplings)

One of the best and it's my comfort food. Simple fish ball soup / fish ball noodle but taste just nice. Fish ball has a nice texture as they are made by the owner (iirc). The condiments in the soup made it taste just nice without being too salty or oily.

There is always a long queue, but be patient. Worth the time if you are looking for that "comfort"

My Taste : 4/5

Soya Bean Curd

Soya Bean Warm - S$0.60

For dessert, a warm soya bean curd. I prefer the traditional type and this small bowl is enough for the craving.

My Taste : 3.5/5

Overall, I have a comfort dinner to the hazy rainy weather. Sometimes, it's not just about the taste.  ;)

Lots of backlog on food.. but I shall write about Teppei!

Teppei
Address : 1 Tras Link, Singapore 078867

With some luck that a friend is a regular and he make reservation for the whole restaurant, finally I get the chance to try their Omakase dinner. It was a upsized version as compare to the normal, that's what I heard from the friend.

The setting is counter-seating. And as it's quite small, try to minimize your belongings.

When you are your seat, a mug of cold wheat tea (I think) is there waiting for you.

Interior :

1st - Appetizer
(From top left to right)
Some fried meatball, veg, pickles veg, tofu, radish, fish cake.

2nd - Sashimi
Fresh and absolutely lovely. Sweet and melt in your mouth.

3rd - Chawamushi
Smooth and flavourful.

4th - Roll
Female gets to be served first but guys get a longer one.

5th
Fried fish! It has very fine bones and the texture of the meat is smooth like milk. Love this!

6th
It's a spoonful of Uni, some diced raw fish.. and.. seriously I don't know what's there. And I don't have a pic 'cause I was fed by the chef. They will go around and "aahhhhhhhh" to feed you.  ;D

To be continued..
