Best Wanton noodles you have eaten?
« on: October 20, 2015, 09:12:55 am »
Petals,

where is the best wanton noodles you have eaten?

I love the Soi wanton noodles at Block 151, Ang Mo Kio Ave 5.
Really great textures and tastes.

It used to be a hidden gem, but social media exposed it and then sigh... long queues and short working hours ever since. Always sold out when I reached there :(
It is really good.

Any more to share?
Loving life here!

Soi got crazy queues!! The best i had was Da Jie Wanton mee @ jalan besar, but it has crazy queues too..

Wanton mee wise i think pontian is quite nice for me already. (Without the long queue)

If comparing noodle wise, i think qq noodle house @ bugis taste better then soi :) (also most importanly without the crazy queue)

Alexandra Village Hawker Centre rear one facing car park run by elderly couple. Portion is large and value for money and delicious. Stall name is something along Dover Wanton Mee or what de.

Still not really over hyped by the media thus no need brave the queue :D

My favourite was from childhood at boon lay market! The wanton noodles there are amazing and the wanton is big and nice. But i'm not sure anymore now since it's been quite a while since i moved.

Fei Fei
I used to eat feifei for breakfast every workday 2years back.
Currently it sucks as the standard for both the noodle and chilli has dropped drastically.

HongMao
This used to be even better than FeiFei, but it got sold to my friend's china friend who is a FuErDai.
Cut cost + lousier skills + lousier quality material = totally fail now.

Eng's
This one is pretty nice if you like chilli, at Tanjong Katong.

Theres quite a few more but i need to double check incase i messed up their locations.

@MistralAstra - my best experience with Kolo mee was in Sibu, Sarawak - no ingredients.  To no one's surprise of course. But never been back to Sibu in years ....  :( ... i could eat 3 plates for breakfast ...
