Taken from Dividend Warrior blog http://dividendsrichwarrior.blogspot.com/2018/12/dw-portfolio-bubble-chart-dec-2018.html

Look at his holdings and dividends. He can retire now if he choose to spend wisely.

I wonder if I should buy dividend stocks from USA or in Singapore.
There are so much good dividend stocks in United States and Canada that pays dividends and increases payout yearly...
actually I have very similar holdings to him .... :P

you need to watch out for withholding tax (WHT) of 30% if you buy US stocks

if you are still keen to pursue that route,  then google search for "dividend aristocrats" ... or buy dividend aristocrats etf

https://www.fool.com/investing/2016/08/22/4-dividend-aristocrats-etfs-for-your-income-portfo.aspx

the workaround US WHT rules is to buy ETFs on LSE via your SCB trading account
lon:VHYD is worth considering if you are after dividends

Is VHYD taxed with 30% USA tax?
If no tax, does the dividend get paid directly to the stock broker account or can auto reinvest back into buying more VHYD?

Tax treaty between Ireland and USA means they hit you with 15% WHT.  So the "penalty" is less.

The dividends are paid into your account quarterly.

Same with VWRD (world stock index), VDPX (apac stocks), VUSD (S&P500), IDIN (global infra), IEDY (emerging market div yielders) IDAP (apac div yielders), VDJP (japan) .....

if you want an ETF that reinvest the dividends for you,  the closest to lse.VWRD is to have a combination of lse.IWDA + lse.EIMI (in 9:1) ratio - as mentioned by a number contributors to the shinythings thread on moneymind.

for some (like me) receiving dividends is not such a bad thing since I can use the USD to buy stuff on Amazon
