I buy simple medical insurance and term insurance

and the rest? I invest in STI ETF (straits times index ETF) and S&P ETF, the SPDR.
thats it.

not heavily confusing life insurance nor endowment plans.
no fanciful stocks or beautiful stocks like DBS or Apple or Google.

Just ETF - replicating the breadth and varieties of Singapore stock markets and the American stock markets. duplicating the breadth, diversifying my risks and best of all - LOW COSTS.

no high commission nor management fees.

@jellyfish - you're financially savvy .....  ;)

any bond ETF like the ABF in your portfolio?

BTW,  ETF outperform mutual funds when dispersion is low ..... like the environment of zero-bound interest rates that we find ourselves in now.   mutual funds get interesting when dispersion is high ...

what is your strategy in investing in STI ETF? Do you invest a fixed amount of money every month or you only buy when it hits certain price?

As for spdr s&p etf, is it in USD? It's pretty illiquid though. Why don't you buy world index etf instead?

VUSD? ???

World index like the Vanguard VRWD (USD) or VWRL (GBP)? ???

the currency translation "losses" is around 1 - 1.5% under the SCB platform.

good idea. I like buying USA stocks ETF as it is very easy to get news and updates.
Will consider world index ETF from 2016 onwards.
What world index ETF are you vested in?
