Not really lah.. that HDB's price during BTO should be very high to begin with.  Minus all the fees, reno etc, I think the profit margin also similar to other HDB sales.

Really?! ... i tot hdb owners earn until smelly smelly ...  :-[ .... but good lah.  We shouldn't give away our crown jewels too easily.

Land and people are singapore's asset .... cannot sell hdb flats too cheap. Otherwise taxpayers are subsidising these owners  8)

HDB pricing in future will be even harder to understand since they started flexible lease scheme for 2-room flats liao.. if they extend this scheme to bigger sized flats, it will be very 乱.

City View @ Boon Keng unit fetches over $1m
« Reply #8 on: March 02, 2016, 01:38:28 pm »
http://business.asiaone.com/news/city-view-boon-keng-unit-fetches-over-1m

A top-floor unit at City View @ Boon Keng has been sold for more than $1 million, confirming predictions that the premium public housing project would turn some flat owners there into millionaires.

The five-room flat at the Design, Build and Sell Scheme (DBSS) development in Boon Keng Road went for $1,028,000 last Saturday, after just two weeks on the market.

PropNex agent Benson Fong, who helped to sell the unit with his colleague Angela Lim, said the unit's high floor, good view and central location are the main reasons behind the handsome price.

"More than 10 people came to view the flat. There was also another offer of $1 million," he said. At 1,281 sq ft, the flat sold for $802 per sq ft (psf).

Its original launch price is not known, but prices ranged from $349,000 to $727,000 when the project was launched in 2008.

I cannot think of anywhere else in the world where the government helps public housing owners become millionaires ! ......

Singapore is lucky country!   PAP FTW !

If you are familiar with HDB's pricing for new launches, their pricing is based primarily on floor level.  I can safely say that this top floor unit which was sold for over $1m was bought for a price very close to $727,000 back in 2008.

New HDB flats are sold at subsidised prices to begin with, so there is nothing to envy about regarding this sale.

Those early HDB owners in Sengkang and Punggol who bought for around $200k and sold for close to $400k before the government measures came in, that one then something lah..
