Use iron or steamer?
« on: October 31, 2015, 11:38:18 pm »
hihi i have been ironing my hubby shirt till crazy.

I saw some clothes stores, they use the standing steamer type to use.
where a vacuum cleaner type of hose and use to "iron" the shirt while it is hanging

Is it good? it looks easier to steam like that than ironing with an iron....

Not really. If you are not careful, can scald your fingers.
And coz you are pulling at one side of the shirt, that contact point will be left without ironing.
And if you need to create those lines for sleeves and pants, you wont be able to do that with those standing iron.

i thought it is much neater and nicer without those lines? nice smart pants and shirts without the obvious ironed lines

I prefer to sit down and iron with the traditional ironing board and an iron. It is easier and neater for me. The standing garment steamer behind has no backing, very hard to iron and my fingers always can feel the heat which is rather scary.

according to my cleaner, the steamer only works if the garment do not have any foldings, just plain soft material dress... for men's shirt with foldings, definitely need iron

U use iron wok or Teflon pans to cook?
