My flat is almost entirely made up of IKEA furniture. Doesn't last the longest but got excuse to give house a makeover  more often.

yes it's true, nowadays many people get it from taobao, some of my furnitures are bought from there too, so far so good, still in good condition. :)
The name ShuperStar is derived from the words Shoe (“Shu”) and Superstar, because we want everyone who wears our shoes to be the star attraction – a ShuperStar!

some reasons not to use IKEA?

https://sg.finance.yahoo.com/news/2-deaths-ikea-government-warn-183553154.html

It can happen to any brand not just IKEA. As long as the height is higher than the small base, a badly designed piece of furniture such as this chest of drawers are hazardous if it isn't drilled to the wall.

My hubby's ikea bed caved in years ago when we are still not married. I don't know how did he do it. He went ikea to replace the wood support and continue to sleep on that bed

the quality really not bad, especially when u consider the pricing.
also, the only annoying part is the assembly part, but if u really dont like, can easily get handyman to assemble for you... :D
