Fabric sofa vs leather sofa
« on: September 19, 2015, 05:37:03 pm »
Hi guys,

I'm planning to get a sofa either in fabric or leather, which is easier to maintain?

Saw a sofa design on etch&bolts website that i like, the Griffith Sofa.
http://www.etchandbolts.com/griffith-sofa

I read a post by them on how to to maintain fabric upholstery sofa
Here's the links:
http://www.etchandbolts.com/blog/how-to-judge-a-sofa-for-quality/
http://www.etchandbolts.com/blog/tips-for-maintaining-upholstered-furniture/

One of the post mentioned "If you are buying a sofa for long term use, best to check if the sofa covers – including the side and back frames – are removable so that you can change to different color fabrics to match the yearly interior design themes you have planned. It is cost effective too!"

Are the sofa covers from etch&bolts removable to wash?

Anyone bought from them before?

Thanks!

Never but was one of the "options" when i research for my furniture. They are pretty much a spinoff after witnessing success of castlery. you may approach their livechat and prob have a chat with them first to see if there's any mo qi.

I bought a fabric sofa for my house because it's more comfortable but I kind of regret it now. Fabric is difficult to maintain and clean. Need to take out the cover and wash while for leather, you just need to wipe it

My family transited from Leather to Fabric.

Got pros and cons la, but for our case fabric was the better option. Cheaper and wash also feels cleaner. Leather need to wipe and overtime got black stains and cracks if not well taken care of.

For fabric my mum sibeh happy la. CNY period walao eh everything red red machiam wedding liddat  ::)
