Wing Chun for Women?
« on: April 02, 2016, 01:09:14 am »
I have started picking up Wing Chun as a self defence exercise. It is originally created by a woman and I am surprised there is not many woman learning this in Singapore.

I am very curious:
Guys, what's your impression of this sport for women?
Ladies, why would/ wouldn't you consider this sport?

The 1st thing that comes to my mind is the image of Lynn Xiong practising moves on the wooden dummy.

LOL !!!!!  ;D ..... likewise that was the image conjured in my mind too .....  ;D

I think lynn's xiong would have turned me into peanut-butter jelly even without so much as lifting a finger ...... such is the power of her kung-fu ..... stupid Aaron's kwok went for that plastic floozy instead ..... really bak-chieu-tak-tio-stamp ......  >:( >:( :o

legend has it that wing chun was founded by a nun at shaolin to repel an amorous suitor ...... now I don't know the whys and wherefores a nun is doing in shaolin but I can imagine the depths and sophistication of wing chun must have flourished by leaps and bounds because she would be repelling amorous and possibly highly skilled shaolin monks day and night ......

in fact with all the styles of kungfu that she would have been exposed to eg. crane, monkey, snake,  iron-palm, etc ...... wing chun would have adapted and developed par excellence as a premier martial art form ......  :P

btw, you learning wing chun from the original Ip Man school? ???
