Could cockroach milk be a superfood of the future?
« on: August 06, 2016, 01:37:21 pm »
https://sg.style.yahoo.com/could-cockroach-milk-superfood-future-155828175.html

Could we one day be eating cookies and ice cream made with cockroach milk? Researchers in India have discovered that a viviparous cockroach (one that gives birth to live young rather than laying eggs) produces a substance three times more calorific than buffalo milk.

Insects are increasingly looking like the food of the future. In years to come, man may make the leap from grasshopper snacks to cockroach milk as a source of energy.

A study undertaken in India has analyzed this substance. The research showed that the secretions produced by a particular species of roach are three times more calorific than buffalo milk (which is rich in fat and protein and four times more calorific than cow's milk).

This is not meant to be hidden but pushed as a superfood in future.  If they manage to breed that cockroach species successfully and are able to milk enough of that substance, it might become another food fad.

People are willing to drink coffee from seeds out of animals' asses, so anything is possible!

Be more open-minded.  Humans already consume amphibian fallopian tubes, why not beetlejuice?  :P

Ultimately, it's all just a huge food cycle.  Kampung chickens eat cockroaches too.

Cockroach milk already exists in the protein supplement industry. There was a rundown exposure of US supplement companies importing protein powders from China to be processed in their US factories.

Problem is - the protein powders are of the cheapest form aka cockroach milk protein! urggh.. and 70%+ of US supplement companies get their sources from China. :-[

I'd personally get a proper diet from 7-11 like HL milk or order a known GMP + HCCP + Halal certified whey protein from hns.sg (totally need it cos i work out 3-4 times a week to maintain 100g of protein daily for lean fit look)

Cheers!

In the near future, sucking cockroach for fresh proteins will become a national favorite pastime like how we suck lala at chomp chomp...
