Are you taking any multi-vitamins?
« on: July 18, 2016, 02:12:17 pm »

I'm currently taking this and feel light-headed whenever I take it. Wonder if it's because I'm overdosing on vitamins. the amt of vitamins they stuff inside 1 dosage is as high as >10x our daily recommended intake (for vitamin B).

ADEK - fat soluble vitamins,  excessive intake deposited in liver
BC - water soluble vitamins,  flush out in urine means you need lots of water

ermmm .... why are you on such high dosage !  :o

A - 100%
C - 417%
D - 150%
E - 333%
K - 100%
B6 - 1000%
B12 - 1667%
Thiamin - 1333%
Riboflavin - 1176%

and there's a whole lot of other minerals ranging from 15% to 250%

on a side note: i've been anemic due to vit b deficiency for a while now.... but i don't think it justify overdosing....  :-\

i'm wondering out loud if those high doses of water soluble vitamins is increasing your osmotic potential? ??? or lowering it? ???? ...... leading to those spells of light-headedness? ..... I think better check with a nutritionist or doctor bah?

@MiaMia

You should consult a nutritionist like unker said since you feel light-headed after taking them.  Taking a multi-vitamin pill may sound like a bao-ga-liao solution but absorption of the needed minerals or vitamins are sometimes correlated.

Take for example, calcium and magnesium.  Over consumption of one may cause a deficiency in the other.

@MiaMia

By the way, how did you know you are anemic due to Vit B deficiency?  Through blood test?  Vit B got many types too, very confusing.

I am taking a multi-vitamin daily too since it was a free gift.  The highest daily recommended % is at around 100%.

Maybe can ask the doctor to recommend a nutritionist during your next visit.

Maybe can ask the doctor to recommend a nutritionist during your next visit.

Some of the best sources of vitamin B6 are poultry, seafood, bananas, leafy green vegetables such as spinach, potatoes and fortified cereals. Your diet should include 1.3 milligrams of B-6 daily to support new red blood cell growth.

sometimes i wonder how did i get deficiency in vit b.  :-\

I know got Vit B1, B2, B3, B6 and B12.  There may be others I missed out but I know B12 deficiency can be caused by an intestinal problem whereby B12 is not absorbed well.

hmm, maybe that's why. B12 is found in animal food. i don't think i'm not eating enough of them to get megalobastic anemia from B12 deficiency.

I am vegan so I take B12 lozenges (Methyl B12) daily.  There's another type besides Methyl but Methyl is supposedly better.

Reading the label now, it says 1 lozenge contains 16,670% of the daily recommended. :o  I guess it should be safe to overdose on B12.

vit b is water soluble so it gets flushed out in your urine. the downside is you pee out "yellow highlighter"....
