Want to change my hamster cheeks. Any advice?
« on: March 13, 2018, 02:03:07 pm »
Want to change the shape of my face, some people even said that I have a hamster-type cheeks, I know there is nothing offensive but sure it's not what you want to hear as a compliment. Many girls insert implants or doing fat transfer to give more volume to their faces, but I want vice versa. My cheekbones are too prominent and I want a more elegant and refined face, make it more feminine, not childish. People on many forums talking about cheekbone reduction and that it's very common in Seoul and the number of satisfied even higher than after a double eyelid surgery. Are there real people, who got the same procedure? Can anyone advice the right place and right surgeon? And did it worth it?

The first review about facial contouring and zygoma reduction I've heard from my American friend, she got it at Regen in Seoul. I was also interested in cheekbone reduction, but scared a lot. Dared to lay down under the knife only 4 months ago. My face now looks very natural, more beautiful, neat and much more attractive. Really liked the results. I've heard of Regen a lot before, in Let Me In show and from QiuQiu, so didn't consider other places. My surgeon was Dr.Oh, very sincere and attentive to details. His English was quite good, but they provided an English speaking assistant anyway. You can take a look at my before and after pics.

You look very pretty. Really like your results. But how could you be sure that the surgeon will create exactly the shape of cheekbones you want and for how long should you stay at the clinic after the surgery? I'm one of the type who doesn't like the hospital-like atmosphere :) And did you have to wait a certain amount of time before flying back, I mean the air pressure during the flight might be risky?

During the consultation Dr.Oh made a 3D computer modelling of the cheekbones that would suit my face most, it was just an approximate result, but I was 100% satisfied and got the exact same shape. Regen uses some special methods that are more gentle and less invasive, so I didn't need to stay at the hospital. I totally thought I would had to stay at the hospital at first but after they told me it was unnecessary for just zygoma I was relieved. They actually told me if I insisted on staying there a night I could but after hearing the surgeon say himself it was unnecessary I didnt stay. I just got comfy at my hotel and went back 3 days later for a check up. I got the procedure done in the morning and the next day after lunch already came back to the hotel. I'm not sure whether the air pressure can affect the results or rehabilitation, as I came back after 2 weeks when all stitches and staples were removed and it was done in two weeks after the surgery. I also wanted to undergo all necessary post-op treatments, so for me everything was absolutely fine.

And in total it took you 2 weeks? How about limitation before and after the surgery?

It actually took me a bit more, a day before I underwent all examinations for severe somatic, chronic and infectious diseases, the blood coagulability and oncology tests. I got a consultation with Regen via LINE long before coming to Seoul and the assistant told me to exclude alcohol, smoking and medicine that might promote to blood thinning, there were no restriction regarding the diet before the surgery, I only was recommended to eat at least 6 hours before the operation. The post-op instructions, however, were stricter. The remaining half of the day I didn't eat at all. During the next two weeks could only eat soft and liquid-like worm food. Within 4 days I had to wear a special compressive bandage and slept only on my back, which was extremely difficult. So I found an optimal solution in a half-sitting position lol.

Did it take you long to recover? I'm afraid I can't handle the severe pain for too long… Btw, I didn't see any scars on your face, are they so invisible, or you hide them with makeup?

The procedure actually is quite complicated, but if to follow all post-op instructions and recommendations like soft diet and no sports, it's quite possible to recover faster. Another thing to consider is swelling and edemas, it took me a week and a half to get rid of them. And Dr.Oh also notified that the final results would be visible only after six months. I felt nothing during the surgery as was under the local anesthesia, but when I woke up, the pain was awful. The nurse gave me some painkillers and I took them several times a day, but believe me it was definitely worth it. I have no scars, as everything was done through through the inside of my mouth and I think it's about 4cm.

Or you can also contact them via LINE, as I did. It's even easier and more convenient. Good luck!

Do you have problems with symmetry? I did mine 3 years ago in Seoul but cheeks doesn't seem to be even. Muscle on the right doesn't lift as much as muscle on the left. So when I smile its unsymmetrical.
