Here is another one I kena

The Banana Plant
This incident occurred during one particular guard duty in an army camp.
It was one of my guard duties and there was not much going on other than the usual.  However, during the night time, that is when the prowling starts.
Guard duties in the army usually consists of two main duties, the sentry and the prowler.  The sentry is the one who stands at designated areas to stand watch over that area or route, while the prowler is moving about from area to area to ensure no strange or suspicious activities are abound.  Since the main idea is that suspicious activities are more likely to occur at night, the prowling duties is enhanced during the night time.
Anyway, prowlers will go in pairs, and my buddy or partner was from another unit.  We both did not know each other, but had to be friends for at least until the duty ends.  The first night prowling went well for us, but during the second prowling duty…
Anyway, he prowled in front, so I was behind.  Prowlers need to move in a staggered formation, meaning to say if one soldier is walking front left, the second soldier is walking back right, usually a few metres away from each other too.
We prowled the first few checkpoints and there was nothing amiss.
As we reached the next checkpoint, it was checkpoint five, I spotted something strange in the distance.  I quickly called to my partner in front and told him to wait.
He turned around and asked what had happened.
“Look in front and tell me what you see.”
“Huh?!  What is it?  What is it?”, he replied with a quiver in his voice.
“Huh?  You scared of ghosts ar?”
   To which, he nodded rapidly.
“Don’t worry, it is not a ghost.  Just turn around and look in front and tell me what you see.”
“Don’t scare me ar…”, he replied as he reluctantly turned around and peeked…
My partner breathed a sigh of relief, turned back to me, and said that there was nothing there.
I answered that he was correct, there was no ghosts to speak of, however, I told him to look in front and see what in there.
He peeked carefully and said there was nothing and that I should not scare him anymore.
I gave a sigh of defeat and said to him…
“Look in front, do you see that tree?  And relax, it is just a tree.”
He took a look, saw that there was indeed a tree in front, turned back to me with a irritating look and said, “So….  It is just a tree leh…”
“Ok, so you do see that tree…  Hmm…  I think we should avoid this checkpoint for now.”
That came as a shock to him and he asked why and for what reason.
“Well, did you see that tree earlier on our first prowl?  Also, it looks like a banana tree from this distance.” (for the record there are no banana trees in our camp)
Upon his realization, a look of fear came over him and he started trembling.
“Aiyoo…  Relax…  We are probably too far for the Pontianak if it truly exists.”
However, that made it worse.  He zoomed right up to me and asked me what we should do now.
I told him that it was ok, I told him that I will use the walkie talkie and explain what is happening, and we should be able to avoid checkpoint five.
“You sure we can avoid going there?  I don’t think our superiors will allow.”
“Well, you can go there alone cause I am not going over.  Go meh, I will wait for you here.”
He quickly changed his mind and allowed me to use the walkie talkie.
Using the walkie talkie, and after explaining the situation, our superiors back at the guard post allowed us to skip this checkpoint due to the sudden appearance of a banana plant.
My partner and I did the rest of the prowl with no incident and upon arriving back at the guard post, we explained in more detail what occurred.
The next two prowlers were then given instructions to report back to guard post upon arriving at checkpoint five and to report what they saw there.  Sure enough, they also reported seeing a banana plant at checkpoint five.  The rest of the prowlers were given permission to avoid checkpoint five that night.
Come daybreak, one of our superiors decided to travel alone to checkpoint five to see for himself.  However, upon reaching there, he saw that there was no banana plant anymore.
This was one of the two possible Pontianak encounters, although I did not physically see it or her.  Whether it was a Pontianak or not, and whether it was a banana plant or some other tree, one thing is for certain…  There was a tree that appeared in the middle of the night and went away upon daybreak.  Well, don’t let this deter you from taking walks in the parks and going near trees!
I curious of which camp the incident took place?
