The Ferryman
This was during my army days, when I served my National Service of 2 years.  It happened rather early during my training on Pulau Tekong.  I fell ill with fever and had 2 days sick leave to stay at home and the following occurred while returning back to Pulau Tekong.
I was to book in back at the company line by 7.00 pm sharp and wanted to catch the 6.00 pm ferry at the SAF Ferry Terminal.  As the ferry would take a while to reach Pulau Tekong from Singapore, I wanted a bit of a leisure march back to company line, especially since I just recovered from a fever.  However, to my dismay, my bus reached the SAF Ferry Terminal at about 6.05 to 6.10 pm. I have to wait for the next ferry at 6.30 pm!  The ferries have a half hour time slot from each other during peak hours, hence the ferry leave at 6.00 pm, 6.30 pm, 7.00 pm and so on, around this time frame.
Quite disappointed to say the least, this meant that I had to fast march back to the company line, and personally did not feel up to the task. But needs must when push comes to shove, and I started preparing my mind for the physical strain my body may have to endure.  Depending on the speed of the ferry, I may have as little as five minutes to reach my company line!
I walked into SAF Ferry Terminal, going through the usual security check, and walked past a few rows of other soldiers sitting in the chairs in the waiting area.  Thinking that it will be easier to board when the ferry comes, I walked right up to the front of the waiting area, and sat down in one of the chairs.
Suddenly, something appeared on the left corner of my eye!  I turned and saw an old man hunched over, with his left arm behind him, and his right hand in the air waving for me to come and board the ferry.  Surprised, I took a quick glance at my digital watch and it showed 6.15 pm.
I thought to myself, “Well, maybe the ferryman is allowing us to board the ferry first before it was time to leave in order to save time.”  So I got up, and turned to walk toward the ferry.  Curiously, the ferryman was not there anymore.  And as I walked, I turned to the soldiers who were now on my left, and they remained seated.  Well that was kind of weird too but maybe they did not want to move yet.
I continued towards the ferry, and walked across the small metal platform and finally boarded the ferry.  The ferryman was not around and I was totally alone.  I turned to my right and went straight to the back of the ferry, settling in the leftmost corner seat of the ferry to peer out of the window to see the door.
While peering out of the window and looking at the door, I could see that no one was there.  The other soldiers did not move and attempt to board the ferry.  I wondered what they were doing.
All of a sudden, the door slammed shut and there was the sound of metal grinding against metal as the board which I just walked on was brought back onto the ferry!  Almost immediately after, the engine was turned on and the ferry started moving and leaving the SAF Ferry Terminal!
What was going on???  Weird thoughts started running in my head!  Was I getting kidnapped?  That does not sound possible.  Where are all the crew members?  Was I on a ghost ship?  That seem plausible due to things moving about without a man moving them!!!  Will I survive???  Well, I started praying the “Our Father” and hoped that tomorrow’s newspaper does not have the headline, “Soldier missing at sea”.
Suddenly, Pulau Tekong was within my sights!  I thanked God and glanced at my watch. Weird, it said 6.15 pm.  As long as I was going to be safe, I did not really cared about the time then.  Upon reaching the jetty at Pulau Tekong, the door flew open just as the board clanked onto the jetty (without seeing anyone outside I might add).  Without wasting any time, I flew out of my seat and got off the ferry, taking a quick glance to the sides of me as I went through the door.  There really was no one around!!
Again, just barely a step off the board, I could hear the metallic board being kept back onto the ferry just as the door slammed shut, and the ferry started its engine again.  In that split second, without a doubt, I knew I had got on a ghost ferry.
My mind was completely blown about what I had just experienced!  My mind was blank around trying to make sense of things as I continued walking down the path.
A sentry was in front of me, and upon seeing me, he got a shock and jumped a couple of inches!  Both of us started at each other intensely, clueless what just happened.  Maybe he thought I was a ghost?  But the moment I walked past him, I quickly turned back to attempt to spot the ferry, but it wasn’t there anymore.
Since then, I have never boarded such a ferry nor saw the ferryman again.  Many opinions from many people have been shared such as, it was an angel who wanted to help me across, it was a ghost of a relative of mine, it was just a ghost, and even, the ferryman being a dimensional traveler.  Although for the last one, it was a bit hard to explain the door and board.  Meanwhile, have a safe trip!

come to think of it, for me seeing the indian woman head snake body during the mid-night, some of my friends said that I have offended some snake spirit. I remembered I closed my balcony door and accidentally killed a snake by accident as it wanted to get into my house. After that, I kept on seeing an indian woman's head wiggling with snake body and it want to disturb me for vengeance :-\

Wow sounds like a scary experience when you are alone in the boat.

Reminds me of another encounter I had when I was alone in a bus. But it turned out to be a joke.
So I was taking this bus and I took the wrong number of bus, it was quite late and the sky is dark. I didn't know I boarded the wrong bus and apparently no one else was inside except me. The bus suddenly come to a stop at a terminal (punggol end) and I finally realised I took the wrong bus. I was shocked when the bus driver suddenly stand up and walk towards me. I was so scared that my hand felt for my umbrella in my bag and was about to.whip it out den the bus driver took a broom from the bus and started sweeping.....
So I asked him where is this place how come u not driving anymore he say it's a terminal and he is cleaning the bus before he move again.

Wew. Almost died of fright that night. I hv not seen a bus driver sweep the bus before  8)

You dont scare me leh.....
I think it should be a human because he did drive me bAck after that... it was a loop bus service I think...
But seriously I haven seen any bus driver sweeping the floor before the incident and after the incident.
I didn't know that bus drivers have SOP to clean up the bus

Can the sweeping pattern be analyzed? To know whether the driver is a human or not?

Wakao my hair stand up..
Tbh I don't dare to look at the driver in the eye or observe anything. While he was doing the sweeping I was hoping that he will faster finish his job and drive back.. coz even if he is human I will be in some kind of danger.
