One interesting fact about yourself!
« on: November 05, 2015, 12:45:58 pm »
as above, let me start the ball rolling :)

i was a crazily shy little girl when i was young. when people spoke to me, i'll just smile and nod to acknowledge. i was so quiet that my parents and teachers were genuinely concerned about me in primary school. my report book every semester till i was 12 had something like "littlesotong is far too shy, she needs to speak up more" or "littlesotong must learn how to interact with people". i didn't have much friends due to my extreme shyness. of cos things started to improve alot after i went to secondary school and junior college.. now i would consider myself a mix of an introvert and extrovert. :)

no trolls, please..  8)

I quitted my job in my late 20s and went overseas to study/travel for a few months to think about what I want to do in the future. It was like a mid-life crisis. I used up all my savings during the trip. When I came back to Sg, I had to find part time jobs to support myself.
Until today, I never regretted the decision to put everything down and leave SG. Even though I spent all my money but i gained back so much more.

Singaporeans are really blessed, mostly contributed by Mr Lee's foresight.

Actually, there are many people who did the same thing as me too. I also encountered a few Singaporean ladies who quit their jobs because they were uncertain where their future lies. They are also around the same age as me. So, a break from the mundane lives is actually good because it helps us refocus in what we want to achieve in the future, be it change a career or study for a higher degree etc.
Its a matter of 1) You think about it and do nothing because you are afraid of what it lies ahead, 2) You think about it and do something because if you don't, you might miss the chance and courage to do it, or 3) Ignorance is bliss. You never knew that you lack something and hence, you are unaware of it.
At the end of the day, it broadens my perspectives of the things around me and I know that if I try, something good might come out of it. However, if I don't try, I might live with regrets.
I dun want to lie on my deathbed with lotsa regrets! Life is too short.
YOLO!

my opinion is that all singaporeans should try their best to live 2-3 years overseas. find out more about the world out there. might help you learn to appreciate singapore better... or find a place that suits you better.

I'm a guy. Not sure exactly what I'm doing here, but got bored of football forums and EDMW.
