5 Annoying Situations I Faced When Job Hunting in Singapore

Job-Interview
A little more than a year ago, I graduated from college and was looking for a job. I kept my options open and applied to both big and small companies – MNCs, SMEs, government agencies and startups.

The type of roles I was looking for were business development; digital marketing and also some reporter jobs as a backup plan.
I would describe the process of job hunting in Singapore as a pretty unpleasant experience due to several annoying situations I’ve encountered.

Here are some other factors made my job hunting process painful

I look at O level cert because i prefer to employ CHIJ, KC, St.Marks girls. A level cert only to screen CJC ...

Back to the topic, lots of MNCs are using forms with pages to fill in and HR would also need to look at the original certificates all the way to O level. Nothing wrong.

Too much self entitlement I would say.

Speaking in English doesn't make one a class above the others or professional. She gotta wake up and know what the corporate world is about.  ::)

I think she needs to temper her job hunt with a sense of realism too ....

most SMEs - where got separate admin and HR function de?   most times finance manager, admin manager and HR manager are one and the same person.

recruitment agencies have their quotas to fill - look on the bright side as gaining more exposure even if the position criteria doesn't match your education/expectation.
