TS, we have now feature your post in our facebook page

good things must share!
how many products do you bring in to start the sales? I mean cannot be too little, and cannot be too much right?
how many colours of variation is optimal?

And also, realistically, is the work a lot more than being full time working for others?
Or the work is a lot lesser?

1) you need to source
2) do listing and advertising
3) maintain your sales page
4) pack, deliver to customers
5) customer service inquires
6) collect money and go back to 1

Seems like a lot of work! I like to try, but curious on how to take the first step to push myself....

thanks happyshar!

previously I enquired on two aspects.

while doing.. the below 2 were very time consuming.

1.) packing : I use a standardised large polymailer that could basically fit everythg for ease of acct (same packing cost). smaller items I fold the mailer in n tape.
I was wondering is there a mailer in the market whr one size fits all and just have to zip lock lol. cz I realised alot of time spent packing.

2.) accting: is there a way to do it with ease? I find dat given the no. of products n categories it's not possible to develop a complex formula to automate the process. cost n shipping oso chg frm time to time. I only use some basic formula and form.. and I realise oso tk alot of time. any suggestions?

thanks n abv two r the two which are most time consuming in my process.

I feel the need to streamline the process as I have plan to bring in new stuffs but no time as my schedule is pulling me around. 😑

Hi. I would say the minimum is 6 quantity for the product you want to sell. This will give you a rough idea if your product can sell while still having enough time for you to restock.
If the product has multiple colours, always stock up more on Black/Grey colours as these are more neutral and easier to sell. Then order about 3 of the other less popular colours.
For multiple different designs, the idea is to look up at other competitors, or other platforms and see what are the popular designs. And then bring those in first.

Work wise, most of the effort is actually spent on listing, and purchasing and replenishing your stocks. If you really sell cheap products that are less than 10-15 dollars, then it will also be very labour intensive. However, it can also be outsourced once you have sufficient profit to hire someone on a part time basis.

hahaha. Seems like you are very concerned about the accounting part.

My question is why do you need a standardize polymailer and why do you need to standardize your packing cost.

If you are importing your products, because of forex, your cost will always vary. You can only have an approximately of your profit and never a true nett profit. When your shipping is charged by volumetric weight and volume, you will have a very big headache if you are the sort of person that needs everything to tally 100%.

I'm only selling imported items lol.
but I spend more time doing accting.

though each time I can check the true profit : time spent ratio to see which is the best to bring in more of.

is it few cents. I tot at least a dollar or more per product. the monthly acct alot difference.

for me I look at time spent versus profit...den adjust accordingly.
some pdt many sales but the time no worth.

haha but everyone has own method.. to each their own.  ;D
